How we handle your information.

This policy describes how FBW LLP collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in the course of providing legal services.

Template policy — to be finalised by the firm with the assistance of its chosen privacy counsel. This text does not constitute a binding privacy policy and must not be relied on until it has been reviewed, completed, and published by FBW LLP.

Information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide to us directly — for example, when you request a consultation, retain the firm, correspond with us by email, or attend a meeting at one of our offices. Typical categories include: name, contact details, identification documents, financial information relevant to a matter, and any facts you choose to share with us.

How we use your information

We use personal information to provide legal services, conduct conflict checks, comply with professional and regulatory obligations (including those imposed by the Law Society of Ontario), administer our accounts, and communicate with you about your file.

Disclosure of information

We may disclose personal information to other lawyers, paralegals, or staff of the firm working on your matter; to external counsel, experts, or service providers retained in connection with your matter; to courts and regulatory authorities where required; and otherwise as permitted or required by law.

Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and to meet our legal and professional obligations. We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorised access.

Your rights
